MertzCrew is making waves in the live-event industry. We are changing the way Rental Companies, Producers, and AV Installers contract freelancers so they can focus on their core businesses. We are doing this in a way that benefits and respects the freelancers that are the very backbone of the live event & AV Industry.

Ever since we started acting as the Agent of Record for our clients back in 2001, it seems like we hear the same questions:

We will take a crack at answering these questions and many more in the posts that follow. We will also tell you how MertzCrew actively works to make the entire experience easy (and dare we sayenjoyable) for both clients and contractors. We don’t think anyone is addressing these questions head on and we want to be the people you can trust to tell you like it is and how best to do it right.
What You Can Expect
We will post 2 to 3 times a month… sometimes more, sometimes less. We will let you know when a new post is ready via our newsletter, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, andGoogle+. If you are kind enough to comment, post, or ask a question, we will happily answer them all.
We will be relevant and honest. This can be an incredibly rewarding industry with amazing challenges and people to meet along the way. It can also be terribly frustrating and demoralizing whether you’re looking for a project to join or you’re dealing with tax rules and state regulations. It’s enough to drive you crazy if you let it.
We will listen. We want your feedback, comments, and questions. We want to make it better for both clients and freelancers. We want you to be confident that you can focus on creating great shows, tours, and installations while we take care of the other stuff.
Why Are We Doing This?
The most honest answer to why we’re writing these articles is so that potential clients can get to know us better and email us to see if we can help them contract freelancers for their projects.
We also believe very strongly that potential clients are only going to reach out to us if we:
(1) provide the best service possible to our current clients and freelancers; (2) continue our 12+ year track record of paying the freelancers within 30 days of the end of a project, even if the client isn’t as diligent; (3) keep up with the latest requirements for contracting freelancers so our clients can sleep soundly at night.
It also helps that we really do love this industry and the people that make it great.
